Our story

Why we built BeThere.

It started with a bad Thursday night.

We were students in Eau Claire trying to figure out where to go on a Thursday. The group chat was dead. Instagram showed nothing useful. Eventbrite had concerts scheduled for three weeks out.

Meanwhile, we found out the next morning that half our friend group had ended up at the same bar — they just didn't know to tell us. That was the moment BeThere started.

We built the app we wished existed: one feed, real events, where your friends are actually going — tonight.

🏆 Hatch 2025 — Fan Favorite
Pitched BeThere at UWEC's Hatch competition. Didn't win the top prize — but the crowd voted us Fan Favorite. That told us everything.

A full-stack social app designed, built, and iterated on by students — with real user feedback from the community we're building for.
